There are 3 core components to the Timpi infrastructure:
Collectors: The decentralized “workers” are run by the community and crawl the internet discovering publicly available webpages. The Collector works on any system, does not need a static IP address or any open ports. It is completely invisible and segregated from the frontend search service via the GeoCore. That way, Timpi can ensure that the Collector’s security is not compromised by running our software. A user can also control how much of their system resources are used.
Guardians: Guardians are our distributed storage hubs run by the community. These are required to store the vast amount of data collected from the approx. 1.7 billion websites. This is increasing at a rate of 250,000 new sites a day.
GeoCore: The GeoCore Node fulfills three primary roles.
Timpi is not just about developing a search engine, we are on a mission to bring unbiased data to the world and there are many forms this can come through. Google has a search engine, but also e-mail, YouTube, and many other services – all are based on how we receive information and each are plagued with either big tech bias or serious privacy challenges.
We want to be able to build an ecosystem to support our overarching missing and we can’t do this alone, there is strength in the community but there is also strength in building partnerships with projects providing alternatives to YouTube, Gmail, and google doc, who have a similar philosophy. Imagine an ecosystem of projects all passionate about reclaiming big tech bias and making a dent in their monopoly

Cost of transaction. There will be zero cost for Timpi to complete the transactions, other than the cost of operations. This will significantly reduce the overall cost to Timpi and improve the bottom line, ultimately resulting in more tokens that we can reward our network with.
Cost of minting. Timpi will be utilizing NFT’s throughout its ecosystem and there will be huge volumes of NFTs being minted. Having our own network will mean that we will not have the the cost of minting these NFT’s.
Cross chain gas fees. We will use some of the savings we make from transaction fees to run gas stations on the Kadena Network.
The challenges of a DAO are diverse but so are the benefits. However, with the European MiCAR (Markets in Crypto-assets) Regulation, it is uncertain that a DAO can even pass these regulations. MiCAR provides a sound legal framework for crypto-asset markets to develop within the EU by clearly defining the regulatory treatment of crypto-assets that are not covered by existing financial services legislation.
A DAO is not a legal structure in the view of the European Union and might not be able to enter the EU market (that includes being listed on DEX or CEX). We can’t ignore the EU as it is the 3rd largest economy in the world and very important for Timpi’s success.
Timpi will introduce TAG, the Timpi Autonomous Government
In essence, TAG has a similar structure to a DAO with the difference that there is a registered business attached to it. The community andTimpi share the governance of Timpi and every Timpi token holder can create proposals to change, add, or remove anything.
